SanFransisco and the great indoors!!!
by Greg Coffos on Aug.30, 2009, under Blogs
So I just spent a great weekend in San Fransisco with an amazing girl and had such an awesome time. I don’t think this weekend could have been much better. On Friday we left Lemoore and got to S.F. around one pm, got checked in, and then headed straight to the Outside Lands Music festival. Ok so this was the first time I had ever been to a festival of this nature. predominately indy music, with a real calm and cool feel to the whole situation. Not once did I think something crazy was going to go down there; I just felt good vibes in the air. Some strange people, but everyone was just there to have a good time. No fights, no stupid drunks(that I seen anyway), nothing…. just good music and happiness. My favorite performance of the day was easily won by Blind Pilot…. this band is amazing with such a relaxing sound, but upbeat enough to make you move and want to sing right along with them. Their sounds was smooth and I couldn’t take my eyes off for too long. Anyway, like I said amazing though I recommend fully. I saw some other great bands there as well that day, Thievery Corporation, and Incubus(which I’m not a big fan of, but it was an ok show). That night when the festival had ended we walked forever looking for a cab, I kid you not they were impossible to find or even get a hold of; It took us probably a good two hours till we actually got one, then we went home where I thought I would be sleeping on the floor of the hotel that night. Honestly I was a little distraught when i thought that would be happening I was about to just sleep in my car, but luckily Janey(not sure if that’s how you spell her name) ended up sleeping with Blanca(the other and last girl that went) so I got to sleep with Michelle in the other bed.
Saturday we all got up and took our showers then headed over to IHOP for some breakfast, pretty good, but they put cheesecake on the pancakes?Who does that? After that we got on our city tour bus and went on a double decker view of the whole city. It was a cool little tour, a bit cold at times, but very good. Haight street is an awesome place with a very strong hippy feel to it. I enjoyed the tour alot because I seen things I forgot about from last time I was there. After the tour ended Michelle, Blanca, and I decided we wanted to go see a movie(Janey wanted to go cougar it up somewhere). We originally planned on seeing Inglorious Bastards, but as we were driving we passed the Orpheum theater, and it had a big poster for the play Wicked in front. Michelle went on her phone and started looking to see when it was playing and it just so happened it started at eight pm that night, and seeing as how we missed the start of the movie we just all figured lets go see Wicked. I had been wanting to see it for a while, and Michelle as well. We tried calling, but it was a no go. Then we saw a scalper in front of the theater and he said come talk to him so we just were like, ” let’s see what he has to say”. We went and parked, but when we got to the theater we went to the box office before the scalper and they had 3 tickets available for $50 a piece…. so exciting when I heard the price, they were supposed to be limited view seats, but when we actually got to them they were pretty damn good. Saw the whole thing pretty perfectly. I will be writing a whole other blog on the play itself because I think I will have a lot to say when I do. Here I will say it was amazing though, I loved it. I felt bad for Michelle because she was so tired and didn’t miss much, but nodded of for a minute here and there and it made me a little sad, but we made it through and yeah. After that we went back to the hotel and pretty much just passed out, talked a little, but not too long.
This morning we got up and went to IHOP again, then afterward just headed home. The drive went by fast for me, everyone feel asleep, but Michelle woke up the last 30-45 minutes or so and we just talked. I feel like it was all about me in the exchanges though and yeah, but it was nice just getting to talk to here for a while without anyone really cutting in. We got back to Lemoore around 4pm or so. Everyone’s cars were at Michelle’s so we all went there, That was the end of my great weekend and even though the last few minutes weren’t the best all in all I had a great time and hope something like it will happen again soon.
*Reoccuring Dreams*
by Greg Coffos on Aug.26, 2009, under Blogs
I have been sleeping alot more lately, my usual four hours or so has turned into eight hours and I am having alot more REM sleep time so I am dreaming alot more. For the past two nights I have been having this dream where me and my two best friends are walking through a forest. It starts just as that, walking and talking; joking alot, having a good time like we usually do, but then all of a sudden it turns dark and my friends disappear. I keep walking alone calling their names trying to listen for a reply. Soon after I see shadowy figures from a distance and start running, but can never seem to get any closer, it seems like I run for miles. I don’t know what any of this means, and the dream seems like it last forever, but in reality it’s probably only a matter of minutes in real time. I just find myself a little lost and confused because I figure it must mean something, but what? To be completely honest my nerves get a little rattled from things like this cause I’m not the type of person that is ok without knowing what’s going on. I hate being confused especially when it might possibly have something to do with my life directly. Hopefully this dream will progress and I will learn the meaning, until then I will keep everyone updated.
Amazing weekend……

So this weekend was amazing, I couldn’t have asked for a much better time(although I think next weekend will top it to be honest). So to start things off on Friday I went out with an amazing girl( no name will be said because she might want some anonymity)anyways, amazing girl. The best thing about the whole situation is that it doesn’t have to be anything to crazy to be fun with her. I feel like a kid when I’m around her kinda shy and goofy. I find myself very hesitant with her on everything because shes an awfully hard person to figure out and it’s funny because I know I am a pretty confident guy so I know its an amazing girl when I am humbled by her. I love the feeling though, she is smart and beautiful, has more to offer then anyone I’ve met before. I might be jumping the gun a bit, but when you feel a connection, you feel a connection right…. Hopefully she is thinking the same thing about me. On the date she suggested this little Italian restaurant out in Hanford that turned out to be pretty good actually. I was pleasantly surprised, we both had this chicken with lemon garlic butter and mashed potatoes delish!) I ate everything up pretty quick. Then we sat there and talked for a bit and I kid you not my head started hurting from smiling so much, I wish I had got more time, but I will be with her the whole weekend coming up and we’ll see if it goes anywhere(wish me luck…..) I need it.
Saturday was another amazing day, but in a more insane way. I went to Warped Tour in Chula Vista with T-dawg, Rich, Pat , and Pat’s friend( I forgot his name lol) The stage was set for an amazing day right from the get go. The second me and Terrence walk through the gate Scary Kids Scaring Kids was playing and had everybody guest singing with em, badass!!!! Afterward we met up with everyone again at the Mainstage and saw a crazy trio one after the next, Underoath, Chiodos, And Thrice. I was dead after the show and my hip is killing me from getting kicked so much lol!!! Chiodos put on such an insane show, wall of death, hundreds of crowd surfers, etc….. that shizzel was crazy!!! Best performance I have ever seen I think. We took about an hour break and just sat down an relaxed and then went and seen VersaEmerge…. amazing up and coming bad, with this bad ass chick singer. She has some powerful pipes on her I must say. I got goosebumps when I was watching. Their music is awesome great instrumentation and as I said Amazing singing! I can’t wait to see them again. After that we went to the final band for us…. epic setting just turned dark, tons of people gathered and out runs Cove, Saosin came up and just blew the place up!!! All in all it was just ridiculously amazing. Had a great time.
That was my weekend and it sounds amazing right? I still think this upcoming weekend will be better, but we’ll see how things go. Well I’m off to bed gotta wake up for work tom…..
Golf Week!
by Greg Coffos on Aug.24, 2009, under Blogs
each day I have met someone interesting. yesterday for example I met an older man named Richard. He was a pretty damn good golfer. Throughout the round he gave me a lot of helpful pointers and suggestions on ways to improve my game. He had some pretty funny stories and it was an all in all good time. He left after the front 9, but once he left I just followed his advice and went on to save my game by shooting a 40 on the back(pretty excited about that). Then today I went right after work and once again was by myself; i paired up with a 3some, 3 younger guys named Nate, Thau, and A ( that’s right his full first name is just A) Anyway, they were all really good golfers. i was having a pretty hard time with my driver today so I just used my 3 iron off the tee every hole. That was until Nate gave me great advice and told me I was going too high with my club head and needed to swing back more with my hips and follow through. Well i took his advice and wouldn’t you know it the next shot I hit with my driver went a good 290 yards. granted I can hit further, but I still gotta get used to the swing. This has been such a great golfing week it’s insane, I will probably make it out there a couple more times this week and hopefully keep meeting new and more experienced players.
Fantastic day…

Have you ever had one of those days where it seemed like nothing could go wrong? I had one today. to start things off I went golfing with my boy Randee and did pretty good. I shot an 81 which is 7 strokes under my normal handicap so I was quite excited about that. That’s really all I did during the day; it took up quite bit of time. The night time is where it shined though. Let me ask… you know how it feels when you get butterflies deep inside you? That overly excited feeling that you dont want to end? Well, I had that tonight, I wont give any reasons as I find it to soon to assume what tonight might have (and hopefully) ment. All I know is I haven’t had this feeling in a very, very long time. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings as my life just seems to keep going in great directions. I think I will start on a new song tonight, and hoepfully with all these good feelings I have left over (if only you could see the huge smile on my face right now haha!!!) I will write something good, heartfilled, and catchy. I will keep everyone who reads posted, have a goodnight.
The weekly drill….
by Greg Coffos on Aug.14, 2009, under Blogs
So this week was an interesting one, I mean I didn’t do much; just work and train. Work was the worst thing I’ve experienced though. My boss is an idiot first off. He over thinks everything and makes things so much harder then they have to be. For example, for a very small cap to a bottle, our shop had to tear apart the entire suppply cage(which is packed to the ceiling with crap) and find it, instead of spending $.30 to buy a new one and have it delivered in an hour. So we spent 4 hours in that cage and never found it. Anyway, the week just kept going like that so it was really getting frustrated. It almost makes me want to go on nights, but I have too many things I like more about the days. This weekend I don’t really have much planned, just relaxing, some golf, and hoepfully hanging out with a friend. I will post how things go on monday.
HOLLYWOOD!!!!

So i went down to H-Twon this weekend and went to the Saddle Ranch. Cool place with a country theme, but all they play is 90’s progressive rock. They also serve the biggets Adios Motherfucker i’ve ever had. The girl that made it didn’t go light on anything either. It was like taking a shot everytime so after that and another little adios I was feeling pretty damn good. After the Saddle Ranch we decided we would go see what else was on the strip. During the walk April ended up getting in a fight with some chick because she’s ridiculous haha and lost her purse; that kind of killed the night because she was upset after that and wanted to leave. Sucked for Moni cause it was her birthday and nobody should have decided when it was done except her. Oh well, they left; so Rich and I just went to Dennys and dipped out after. All and all it was a good time though.
